Why are fans so angry that this Hollyoaks star is back? Why do they criticize so harshly?

There is good news in store for Hollyoaks fans as Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) is set to make an unexpected return to the show, just months after he made his final appearance.

The much-loved favourite was one of several characters written out of the show amid a multitude of changes prior to the show’s episode reduction.

It had been a somewhat quieter year for Charlie – a mainstay of the show for 13 years – in the lead up to the changeover, which saw Hollyoaks take a historic time jump into the future.

The character disappeared during the skip forward, with his final appearance seeing him at the hospital with the Osborne clan following Suzanne Ashworth’s (Suzanne Hall) demise.

But prayers have been answered it seems, with Charlie making a short comeback next week as he arrives back in the eponymous village, much to the delight of sister Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith), who developed a loving and warm sibling bond with him prior to his departure.

Charlie certainly has a lot to catch up on, that’s for sure, with abuser JJ (Ryan Mulvey) – who was set to stand trial for what he did to Frankie – having been diagnosed with leukaemia, with Frankie now intent on donating her bone marrow to save his life.

There’s also Darren’s (Ashley Taylor Dawson) disappearance, with Nancy (Jessica Fox) keeping shtum about the fact that his belongings were uncovered in an abandoned car.

Whether or not Charlie finds out about Darren remains to be seen but he’s in for quite the shock as he learns from Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) about Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) and Leah Barnes (Ela-May Demircan) – and lets just say that he’s stunned to silence.

Dillon, as viewers know, cheated on Lucas with Leah during the show’s ‘missing’ year.

Lucas, as it stands, doesn’t know about such a thing but this spoilery update for next Wednesday’s (November 20) edition of the Channel 4 soap confirms that he uncovers the truth about his former beau and his sister’s betrayal next week.

What will Charlie do with this information? And just how long will he stay in the village for?
