Neighbours spoilers follow.
Next week on Neighbours, Toadie returns to ask Terese for a big favour.
Elsewhere, the Varga-Murphy family deals with sad news as Cara is rushed back to hospital, and a suspicious newcomer arrives to cause more trouble for Holly.
Here’s our guide to 13 big moments coming up. You can also check out our collection of 26 spoiler pictures from the episodes.
1. Terese makes her final choice over Eirini Rising
Terese struggles after Moira’s decision to lead the residents in blocking her planned return to Eirini Rising. Paul suggests that Moira’s legal ultimatum, which was inspired by advice from Tim Collins, lacks any credibility – but the contracts seem to be on the residents’ side.
Finally defeated, Terese confirms to Susan and Karl that she won’t be returning to Eirini Rising. The Kennedys praise her for a dignified exit, but they’re unaware of just how much Terese is struggling with having to walk away from the business she worked so hard to build.
2. Toadie and Nell return
Toadie and Nell both make a return visit to Erinsborough. While Nell catches up with her boyfriend JJ, Toadie runs into Terese and also spends time with Susan.
Terese becomes determined to avoid Toadie wherever possible, not wanting him to find out about her recent alcohol relapse and her departure from Eirini Rising. However, this proves tricky when Toadie reveals that the reason he returned was to ask Terese for a big favour.
3. Toadie shares some sad news
Toadie confides in Terese about how his father Big Kev has been diagnosed with cancer. Things aren’t looking good for Kev and Toadie fears it could be triggering for Nell if she has to stay in Colac and watch him deteriorate.
Toadie asks Terese if Nell can come to live with her for a while. This makes Terese uneasy, as she isn’t sure she’s in the right frame of mind after her own recent troubles.
4. Nell’s future remains uncertain
All finally becomes clear for Toadie as Jane tells him about Terese’s recent problems. He immediately withdraws his request for Terese’s help, but this makes her feel worse as she accuses him of messing her around again.
Toadie asks Karl and Susan if they’d be prepared to take Nell in. The Kennedys confirm that Nell is always welcome, but they push Toadie to talk openly with his daughter and find out what she wants.
5. Jane and Shane revisit the past
Jane heads out for a drink with Shane and the mood turns flirty as they reminisce over their past relationship. Nicolette and Max both watch the conversation unfold and they speculate over whether their parents could reunite.
This seems unlikely when Shane later informs Jane that he’ll soon be leaving town again. However, when Nicolette and Max visit Jane’s place later, they’re shocked to find her in a compromising position with Shane.
6. Jane makes a big decision as Shane leaves
Nicolette questions Jane on her decision to revisit her past passion with Shane. She helps her mum to realise that it may be time to make a change, rather than repeatedly turning to faces from her past for romantic support.
Jane speaks to Shane and they both agree that it’s not the right time to pursue a proper relationship. Jane is ready to start exploring the idea of dating a man that she doesn’t already know.
Before Shane heads back to Queensland, Max thanks him for everything as he prepares for his own fresh start in Erinsborough.
7. Cara collapses
Cara is discharged from the hospital, but her behaviour leaves Remi concerned when she seems to be pushing too hard and too quickly with her recovery. This comes to a head when Cara gets up at night and reaches up high for a snack from a cupboard, rather than asking Remi for help.
Cara feels a painful stab in her abdomen and instantly regrets not listening to Remi’s words of warning, although she hides the problem from her wife.
The next day, Cara tells Remi that the painkillers she was prescribed are no longer working properly. The couple arrange a check-up at the hospital, but it’s too late when Cara collapses outside on the lawn.
8. Cara receives upsetting news
At the hospital, Cara is told that she’ll have to go back in for surgery. Before her operation, Cara admits that she made her injuries worse by pushing too hard and then covering up the issue.
Later, after the operation, Cara is told that there were complications and she had to undergo a hysterectomy to save her life. Cara seems oddly accepting of the news, but Remi is concerned by her reaction and the obvious implications for their plans to have another baby together.
9. Remi worries about Cara
Cara remains dismissive over her news when talking to her family, and she’s equally reticent when Krista offers sympathy.
In the end, a concerned Remi challenges Cara by questioning why she hasn’t shown any emotional reaction to the news that she can no longer have children. Cara insists that she’s fine and desperately tries to turn the conversation to the Varga-Murphys’ upcoming New York trip.
10. Yaz arrives with a secret agenda
Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause makes her Neighbours debut as Yaz Shields, who arrives in town to pitch the idea of a bespoke lighting event for Erinsborough. She wins the support of the local mayor and starts approaching businesses over potential sponsorship.
During a chat with Aaron, Yaz speaks wistfully about her brother – explaining that she started her lighting show business with him but he’s no longer involved.
In her hotel room later on, Yaz listens to the podcast interview that Holly recently recorded over Heath’s death in the Outback. As Yaz pulls out a photo showing her with Heath, it seems that she’s his sister – and is now out for revenge.
11. Leo scares off Sebastian
Leo finds out that Sebastian is being hassled by a loan shark that he owes money to. He presumes that Sebastian is only hanging around because he wants Krista to bail him out of this situation.
Losing patience, Leo threatens Sebastian by vowing to make his life hell if he doesn’t leave town. Masking his true agenda, Leo pretends to Krista that he’s fully supportive of her decision to help Sebastian, then acts surprised when it’s revealed that Sebastian has suddenly fled from town.
12. Leo starts to have second thoughts
As Krista panics about her friend’s disappearance, Leo confides in Aaron about how he forced Sebastian to leave. Krista admits to Leo that she was the one who first got Sebastian involved in drugs, so she’d hoped to make amends by turning his life around.
Byron tries to tip off Krista that he saw Sebastian with a drug dealer, but Leo intervenes and stops him from saying anything. He tells Byron that the man in question was a loan shark and they needn’t worry Krista any further.
Later, Krista is relieved to receive a text from Sebastian, telling her that he has arrived safely in Sydney. Is Leo off the hook, or are his lies a ticking timebomb?
13. Byron’s jealousy grows
Byron, Sadie and Max unite to support Vera as her financial struggles continue. However, it quickly becomes clear that Vera is playing the share house residents for fools.
Sadie and Max bond when they realise that Vera has duped them. Jealous Byron is livid to spot his girlfriend getting so close to the new guy in town.
